Highlight at NPGHS

This year hasn't been the best to do any activities, and everything was not going to well like I thought. So many things happened that I've never expect. But every encounter was wonderful experience for me and I enjoyed meeting them everyday. One of the highlights that I had at NPGHS is meeting with one girl from France. Her name is Emma and she had to leave NZ earlier due to COVID-19. But we had a great and lovely time even in a few months.

Harakeke Raranga - Flax Weaving

Kia ora! Today the students went weaving or Harakeke Raranga. Hina made puti puti or flowers and Amy made a konae or basket. They also learned a little about Maori tikanga or customs such as saying a karakia or prayer before the weaving begins. Isn't their work fabulous? Well done students.

This week Hina and Amy have been out and about visiting the Puke Ariki museum Homework Exhibition, a fabulous showcase of local artists' work. Aren't the glass shadows spectacular? A great time had by all.

International Farewell

We said farewell to some of our wonderful International students last night. They are Moana (Vanuatu), Karlotta (Germany), Hina (Japan) and InYoung (South Korea). We also said goodbye to Lena (Japan) our fabulous International leader who has done a great job this year.

We are very proud of them all as they have done so well during such a tough year. We wish them all the best for the future.
