Parihaka Visit

The trip to Parihaka was a one hour bus trip, you'd think I'd get sleepy but we were laughing all the way there because of Sisi and her friends. When we arrived at Parihaka itself I was in awe because of its scenery, especially because it gave me a clear view of Mt. Taranaki. We were welcomed in with the traditional karanga before we went into the marae. I learned about the history of Parihaka and of course the Maori culture itself and all this from a woman with great knowledge. We were given food to eat such as the scones for morning tea and soup for lunch, it was delicious. All in all the trip was amazing! Anjelika
